IQUAL platform for Domino Notes or Intranet

Used by many companies in all sectors, IQUAL is an integrated, modular software tool that is multi-site and multi-language. It operates in Lotus Domino with access from workstations with Lotus Notes or an Internet browser. IQUAL offers all of the functionalities required to maintain a progress dynamic for quality and other management systems: document management, process modelling, continuous improvement workflows, etc. The IQUAL interface and functionalities have been optimised over time to enable fast, simple use by a range of user profiles.

Functionalities

IQUAL gives users a real Quality portal providing direct access to:

  • all of the documents they need, either through different classifications, or via a search engine;
  • all of the tasks they have to carry out to contribute towards the proper progress of management systems, such as approving a new work instruction, handling a request for corrective action, etc.

The interface is easy to use, with a minimum number of clicks and numerous functionalities can be implemented:

  • Management of access rights and classification structures
  • Document management (adjustable update cycle)
  • Viewing documents
  • Requests for documents to be created or modified
  • Dictionary of information for searches and extractions
  • Process modelling
  • Browsing between process diagrams documents
  • Management of quality registration documents
  • Modelling and workflow engine
  • Management of non-conformities and corrective actions
  • Audit management
  • Management of measuring instrument calibration.

Benefits

IQUAL is:

  • Easy to use: continuity and personalisation of the interface across all modules to provide ease of use;
  • Flexible: centralised or decentralised management, multiple sites, multiple languages, thanks to a high level of parameterisation;
  • Reliable: tool based on IBM Lotus Notes Domino, a guarantee of sturdiness, flexibility and security, capable of supporting several tens of thousands of documents;
  • Easy to implement: advanced parameterisation, automatic recovery of documents, etc.;
  • Cooperative and comprehensive: everyone is involved and there is integration of many aspects of management and Quality;
  • A generator of gains in efficiency: simplification of processing tasks, speed of response by contributors, reduction in malfunctions, better quality of decisions.

Technical environment

IQUAL is very easy to implement in companies that have a Domino server (version 6.5 or higher), a robust and commonly used platform provided by IBM, with Lotus Notes electronic mail.

Users can access the application either through the Lotus Notes client (version 6.5 or higher) if it is installed on their workstation, or via the intranet through an Internet browser).

For businesses that do not have Lotus Notes, IQUAL can be implemented by installing the 'Express Utility' version from Domino, which is very inexpensive.

The latest IQUAL/Domino version V6.5

This version provides numerous upgrades and improvements:

• technical: it makes using IQUAL in an intranet environment more user-friendly and faster as the result of:

  • installation simplification and a better response time because it is no longer necessary to have Java applets on the client Web workstation sent by the Domino server;
  • the systematic reduction in the number of clicks as the result of being able to browse in views in the same way as with a Notes client or read comments posted directly in the document, rather than in a secondary window;
  • management of attached documents by simple buttons;
  • etc.;

• functional, especially in terms of document management:

  • the ability to lighten the creation and validation cycle by varying the number of stages, according to the type of document;
  • easier management of changes to personnel (leaving company, transferred to another job);
  • simplified and more flexible management of document distribution to addressees and follow-up of receipt acknowledgments;
  • etc.
